Xeomin
Xeomin uses the same active ingredient as Botox, but the effects usually take about three to four days to become apparent as opposed to two to three. Some patients prefer the peak effects of the treatment to appear more slowly, which makes them more subtle. Also, unlike Botox, the botulinum toxin is
not
bound to compounding proteins, meaning that Xeomin is effective for patients who are Botox-resistant. This can occur due to someone’s immune system or as a result of using high doses of Botox for a long period of time (which is often the case for people who rely on it to help with teeth grinding).
